Hmuifang, a hill station in Mizoram

posted in: Asia, India, Mizoram | 2

After our overnight stay at Thenzawl, we started our journey towards Aizawl. Our destination of the day was the hill station of Hmuifang. Hearing “hill station”, do not expect it to be like overcrowded Ooty or Kodaikanal. It is a small village with great views and a resort!!

On the way to Hmuifang, our driver suggested a short detour to visit Sialsuk peak. Following his advice, we drove to Sialsuk. The drive to Sialsuk peak through the forests and grasslands was beautiful. The vistas from the top were incredible. Great detour!!

It was lunchtime when we reached Hmuifang. As we climbed up to the village, there was a visible change in the climate. The cool weather and clouds welcomed us as we entered Hmuifang. We had our lunch at a local restaurant and then checked in to the tourist resort.

The tourist resort managed by Mizoram tourism was in a large area next to the road. The place was simply beautiful.

After some rest, we went to Lal Thanhawla Park, next to the resort. The large lawn was something like a dreamland. We just spent time enjoying the beauty of the place. There were hardly any visitors there!! The area turned misty in the evening, with rolling clouds taking over the hill.

The morning provided clear views of the surroundings. We visited various viewpoints in the area before starting our journey to Aizawl.
