Ohiopyle in Pennsylvania

Ohiopyle was a quick getaway from Pittsburgh on a Sunday morning. The weather was cloudy and rainy but not wanting to spend time sitting in hotel, I and my colleagues headed out to Ohiopyle, about an hour drive from Pittsburgh. The drive was uneventful but the scenery became better and better as we reached Ohiopyle.

We parked our vehicle at the visitor where we could hear the roar of the waterfalls. Youghiogheny River forms a wide waterfall which is visible from visitor centre itself. The waterfall was not tall but the force of water made me to recollect the Godachinamalki waterfall that I had visited long back near Balagavi.

The meadow run waterslides was an interesting place to look at the water flowing rapidly through rock slides.

Another place of interest was Cucumber waterfall. We tried to walk but could not find a trail to the waterfall. Since it was raining we took the car. The waterfall was just a short walk from the parking area. The waterfall amidst the greenery simply looks beautiful.

The trip ended with a visit to Baughman Rock overlook which provided a nice view of the valley.
